Fenway Sports Group (FSG), the owner of Liverpool, recently unexpectedly offered to sell this team in the near future.

Liverpool prepare to change owners?

A series of major newspapers in the UK confirmed that Liverpool will be for sale in the near future. Fenway Sports Group (FSG) is finalizing the listing of ownership of The Kop and inviting interested partners.

Over the years, FSG has received many offers to buy Liverpool. However, the owners of The Kop at that time flatly refused.

Until now, the group headed by billionaire John William Henry has seriously considered ceding ownership of Liverpool. At the present time, The Kop is valued at no less than 4 billion pounds.

Liverpool may change owners in the near future.

FSG revealed to The Athletic:

"In the past, FSG seriously considered ceding ownership of Liverpool. However, we withdrew the decision. Currently, FSG continues to invite interested partners in this matter.

Many Premier League teams have changed hands in recent times. We are frequently asked if we want to sell our ownership of Liverpool.

On appropriate terms and conditions, we will consider negotiating with our partners if this is in the best interest of Liverpool. FSG remains fully committed to bringing out the best in Liverpool, both on and off the pitch."

FSG Group became the owner of Liverpool in 2010 after buying the club from the US billionaire duo, George Gillett Jr. and Tom Hicks. Chairman John William Henry was very popular with shareholders when he kept his promise to bring The Kop back to the top.

Since putting their trust in Jurgen Klopp in 2015, Liverpool have gradually become one of the top teams in Europe. The biggest impression of the Red Brigade over the years has to be the Champions League 2018/19 and Premier League 2019/20 titles.
